How to Get Free Lego Products

lego

We have all seen the posts for Free Lego Packs but sometimes aren’t prepared to take a trip to the local Lego store when we see it.  Here are a couple of hints on how to score great Lego Freebies and be prepared for when they are going to become available.

In Store Lego Freebies

Every month Lego offers and in store mini building kit for kids 6-12 years old that is free.  They have no limit to the number of kids that you bring…so this is great if you have a couple of kids that love Legos.  The trick with these is to start check out their Facebook page about the last week of the month.  These events usually take place between the 3rd and 10th of the month.  They are also usually on a Tuesday.  Recently they have been hosting them on the first Tuesday of the month.

When you arrive in store you should be prepared to not only arrive early and hang out, but arrive and see a lot of kids.  Since the Lego tables are open, you will see lot’s of kids hanging out and building.  Some stores give the kids a sticker to wear to show that they arrived for the event early. So check at the counter.

If you are in a Lego store after the day of an event, you can also ask if they had any left over kids.  I got lucky with this once…maybe you will too!

Lego Magazine

If you have not signed up for the Lego Magazine then you should.  Both my boys get the magazine and since we homeschool.  When it arrives we plan an activity the next day to build the Lego Build it sample they feature and also to explore and talk about what is in the Magazine. There are often games and activities in the magazines so this is a great thing to explore and read with the kids.  I like that both my kids get it for free.  They can also submit their own pictures of Lego creations that they have made.  My sons were inspired to make their own Lego magazine themselves which was just priceless!
